Our design team partnered with Hafnia on an exciting mission to redefine life onboard their vessels. As part of Hafnia’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, they aspire to achieve an equal gender split amongst the crew. This step not only enriches the onboard culture but also strengthens their value statement: “Hafnia is all about people.”
To explore the significant impact of this diversity, Hafnia established the Culture Lab, which studies how a balanced gender crew transforms the atmosphere and culture onboard. It’s an innovative initiative that aligns perfectly with Hafnia’s vision of inclusivity and human-centric values.

Our approach
Our mission was to translate Hafnia’s value statement into tangible interior design across the entire Hafnia fleet, leading to the creation of the “Hafnia Crew Living” project. Our design team focused on crafting crew living concepts that emphasize variety, diverse experiences, chance meetings, and a sense of community and inclusivity, all while ensuring a welcoming feel, wellbeing, and comfort.
We incorporated cosy lounges, personalised cabins, and recreational spaces to ensure every seafarer feels at home even when they are miles away from their loved ones. Thoughtful touches like gentle lightning, ergonomic furniture, a diverse selection of materials and textures as well as thoughtfully selected decorative items are key elements of our design, aimed at enhancing the overall onboard experience.
