OSK Design presents Coastal Corvette concept for the Royal Danish Navy
OSK Design has presented a new Coastal Corvette concept for the Royal Danish Navy in an interview with Naval News.
In the interview, Lars Povl Jensen, Head of Defence of OSK Design, introduces the thinking behind the concept and discusses how a new type of compact, capable naval vessel could contribute to Denmark’s future maritime defence capabilities.
A vessel designed for a changing maritime environment
The Coastal Corvette concept explores the space between larger surface combatants and smaller or unmanned platforms.
The idea is to create a vessel that combines flexibility, endurance and operational capability in a compact platform, while maintaining the qualities required to operate effectively in Denmark’s coastal and maritime environment.
For OSK Design, the concept is part of a broader approach to naval design: understanding the operational requirements first and then exploring how design, technology and architecture can come together to create the right platform for the mission.
