With the shipbuilding contract now signed between Ferry Holdings Ltd and Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), the next generation of Cook Strait vessels is one step closer to becoming reality. The newly released visualisations offer an exciting glimpse of modern, future-proof ships designed for one of the world’s most demanding ferry routes.
With increased capacity, hybrid technology, and a design tailored to the unique conditions of the Cook Strait, these vessels represent a generational investment in New Zealand’s inter-island transport infrastructure.
