HSC LILLEØRE is coming home!

Samsø Rederi’s new high-speed ferry HSC LILLEØRE has been delivered and she is ready to be transported by heavy lift from South China to Aarhus, where she will arrive in February. From April 2021 she will ply the waters between Dokk1 in Aarhus and Sælvig in Samsø with her capacity of 296 passengers and 70 bicycles at a service speed of 29.5 kn.

The 35m HSC LILLEØRE is the result of a public tender process floated by OSK Design in 2018, won by AFAI Shipyard in Guangzhou (China) with an Incat Crowther Design.

Throughout the design and construction process, OSK Design and subsidiary SinoDane has been in charge of the drawing approvals and on-site supervision – all successfully headed by Andreas Sorth despite severe challenges due to corona causing country lockdowns and travel restrictions. OSK Design is also the designer of the new linkspans serving the vessel, which now can be seen in both Sælvig on Samsø and at Dokk1 in Aarhus.

To celebrate this exciting milestone in the newbuilding process, hindered but not haltered by the corona pandemic, owners, yard and designers will have an online delivery ceremony today.
