Nikolaj Hougaard – Mechanical Engineer

Supporting this mission is Mechanical Engineer Nikolaj Hougaard, whose combined background in engineering and practical craftsmanship brings a unique perspective to our projects.
Nikolaj holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aarhus University and is also a trained stainless steel welder. This combination of academic and technical expertise enables him to bridge theory and practice, ensuring robust, efficient, and innovative solutions for our clients.
His work focuses on energy optimisation, data analysis, naval architecture, and the integration of alternative fuels and green technologies. With a strong interest in sustainable marine operations, Nikolaj contributes to projects that help shipowners and operators navigate the transition towards greener shipping.
Nikolaj’s approach is both analytical and hands-on, drawing on his technical foundation and engineering insight to deliver practical solutions that align with evolving industry standards and environmental requirements.
Outside of work, he enjoys sailing his own boat - brought home from the Caribbean last year - both in Denmark and abroad. He is also passionate about football and skiing and appreciates spending time outdoors exploring nature with his girlfriend.
